dear dope chick,
welcome + welcome back!
how you feelin‘ today?
how you livin‘ today?
are you ready, today, to take action?
what you’ll need:
for those who are new here, who haven’t been here in quite a while, or have been rockin’ with me since day one —
dear dope chick™ is an action based podcast so that means that every single episode you are challenged to take one small step that aligns with living life on your own terms.
that means you’re taking one step today — big, small, however you wanna categorize or label it, that aligns with the lifestyle that you most desire.
this is your choice.
taking the step today, pawning it off for later, or abandoning all together is up to one person:
that’s you.
it takes incredible responsibility to own your decisions, to become intentional in all that you do, to discipline your mind + focus on what you deem most important in your life, to let go of our need to control everything is “a lot“.
so i understand when people say “i can’t do that”, + i believe them.
because they are letting me know where their capacity starts + stops.
though we all have the opportunity to embrace change, we all are not ready to accept that type of responsibility.
are you?
are you ready to own your decisions?
are you ready to make the necessary changes in your life?
are you ready to do something different + leave your old way of life behind?
you owe it to yourself to steer your life in the direction that you’ve always wanted to go + you can do that for yourself today.
all it takes is one step to get started.
let’s get to work!
so, grab a notebook or journal that is dedicated to this podcast so that you can participate in the activities and exercises discussed; to see how much you have grown over the course of your life.
have you heard our previous episodes?
not yet ready do the activities presented in this episode?
we have others that may interest you so if you aren’t familiar or haven’t heard our previous episodes, take a listen so that you can make an informed choice today.
you can listen to them here.
to do this week:
bet you ain’t see this before!
today’s action is to observe your limited perspective + challenge yourself to go deeper.
we all have so much to learn about life + about ourselves.
one of the best ways to learn is to first acknowledge that we’ve barely scratched the surface of all there is to know, especially when it comes to ourselves, especially about life around us.
in this moment, it is a fair assessment to note that everything you know about yourself right now is based on past experiences you’ve had with yourself.
in the past, you may have reacted a particular way —
- you’ve matched energy
- you’ve gone low
- you’ve made excuses for behavior including your own
- you’ve intentionally hit below the belt because you knew that evoke the emotion you most desired
- you’ve begged, pleaded, + even given ultimatums to others to change their lives to fit what you want to see
in the past, you’ve done a lot of shit that doesn’t align with who you are now in this moment.
now, you have the opportunity to switch it up —
- you can respond differently
- you can choose peace
- you can lay your excuses down + uncover solutions
- you can give up your expectations + grant yourself the freedom to simply be + you can hold space for others to be fully be who you they are, too
you can decide in this moment who you are + you can choose to act in a way that supports that person.
your past doesn’t have to dictate your present.
yea, you’ve always done it this way + now that ends.
you want something different so you are committed to doing something different.
I don’t care if it was 5 years ago or 5 minutes ago, the right to change is all yours.
it’s your birthright to decide what your life looks like from here on out, to choose what aligns with who you are at your core.
you want to stop yelling at your loved ones + instead, offer kinder words?
start speaking kindly now.
you want more patience with yourself + others?
start exercising patience now.
you want to learn to forgive + let go?
start teaching yourself now by forgiving yourself.
you want to be present + appreciative?
start appreciating the details + off beat moments of life.
things that you’ve previously taken for granted, meet it with much gratitude today.
you become intentional, appreciative, + present by allowing yourself to experience what’s happening right now in this moment.
go deep + explore the unknown depths of you.
we all have so much work to do because we are constantly changing.
the work isn’t designed to be overwhelming (which it can present itself to be when initially when you start this process) rather when we accept new verbiage around our actions, we can see it as fun, as exciting, as collaborative.
i like the word collaborative because sometimes it takes others to act as a mirror to us so we can fully see ourselves in these moments.
everyday you are collaborating with others, with objects, with nature — collaboration never ends.
the relationships that you have with your phone, your computer, your car, your books, with money — those are, too, collaborative.
what is the relationship you have with these items + what does that tell you about yourself?
all I’m saying is we know what we know + there is also so much more to learn + learning is where living begins.
over the course of the week, show gratitude for the new information that has appeared in your life.
you are expanding, fam.
with every experience, with every encounter, there is something to learn.
thank the universe, thank the Higher Power, thank The Source, thank God — whatever you identify with send up gratitude for the newness that you are experiencing.
show gratitude for your new perspective, for your growth.
show gratitude for the ability to pivot.
show gratitude for the energy of ingenuity + creativity.
show gratitude for this chance in life to experience life + to make it one that you want to sign off one in your last breaths as the best life ever.
additionally, keep reciting those affirmations!
for 21 days straight we are reciting previously written affirmations.
continue reciting your affirmations this week.
check out the previous episode if you have not to get a jumpstart on this action step.

my final thoughts:
give yourself a chance.
the dopest opportunity you can give yourself is the opportunity to learn, to grow, to gain wisdom today.
the best way to do that is to remain open to what life has to offer.
everyone + everything you encounter today has a lesson to teach you.
you have a unique + fortunate opportunity to be a student of life today.
shift your focus to the present by being + staying involved in each moment.
listen more than you speak.
smile more than you frown.
give yourself the opportunity download + process information before acting.
be still + know that life is working for you + wants to uplift you + envelope you in all of its dopeness.
everything in this world has a vibration + it is your job to align with the vibration that best suits your desired lifestyle.
recognize where you are right now + give yourself permission to vibrate higher by acknowledging that the deeper you go, the more you can continue expanding your perspective.

+ most importantly, i thank you for being you.

be you, be dope!
