have fear know its role

dear dope chick:

when i decided to step out on faith, fear came to me  + wanted to have a chat…

so, we spoke.

we’ve decided to give one another space to exist; to simply be

without the labels + without the bad talk, fear + i are allowed to co-exist.

at times, fear shows up + its presence gives me to the push that i need to make moves.

i appreciate that.

i've reimagined my relationship with fear. instead of feeling panic + anxiety when it shows up unannounced, i now accept the gift of discomfort it brings; a gift that inspires me to go out + make shift happen. i truly appreciate it.

gone are the days where fear keeps me stuck + stagnant.

fear plays a vital role in my journey + i welcome it with open arms.

it’s not enough for any of us to walk around without acknowledging what we feel inside.

have fear know its role by seeing it, by experiencing it, + by holding space for it when it shows up.

no need to feed into it or give it more attention than it deserves.

a simple acknowledgement is fine:

i see you + i’ve received the message. thank you.

fear appears like a friend who never calls before coming + you know what? it will waltz away the same way.

all of our feelings eventually do.

see it, call it by name, + instead of dismissing it, find ways to work with it.

it’s wanting to protect the most vulnerable parts of you.

it wants you to offer yourself compassionate care.

it is begging you to pay attention to its message.

the questions we must ask ourselves now are:

when fear calls, am i willing to listen without judgement or attachment?

am i willing to dig deep + address its concerns, my concerns?

be you, be dope!
