dear dope chick,

welcome + welcome back!

i’m so glad you could join us today,

i’m so glad that you are here,

+ i’m ready to ask you:

are you ready to take action today?

what you’ll need:

for those who are new here, who haven’t been here in quite a while, or have been rockin’ with me since day one —

dear dope chick™ is an action based podcast so that means that every single episode you are challenged to take one small step that aligns with living life on your own terms.

that means you’re taking one step today — big, small, however you wanna categorize or label it, that aligns with the lifestyle that you most desire.

this is your choice.

today is your day to make the choices that you’ve always wanted to make.

no one else can make these choices for you.

no one else can pressure you to do this.

you have to decide to do what is best for you.

that is the first step to living life on your own terms: deciding for yourself that it is that you want.

so what do you want?

you owe it to yourself to steer your life in the direction that you’ve always wanted to go + you can do that for yourself today.

let’s get to work!

so, grab a notebook or journal that is dedicated to this podcast so that you can participate in the activities and exercises discussed; to see how much you have grown over the course of your life.

have you heard our previous episodes?

not yet ready do the activities presented in this episode?

we have others that may interest you so if you aren’t familiar or haven’t heard our previous episodes, take a listen so that you can make an informed choice today.

you can listen to them here.

to do this week:

it’s right in front of your face.

today’s action is to stop looking for what’s already there + use what you’ve got

we say we’re looking for love.

love is already in your life. you are love.

we say we’re looking for peace.

what about the peace you have?

why aren’t you tapping into it + using it?

we talk about how if we had more patience, we’d not yell, scream, or lash out on or physically harm anyone…

why not exercise the patience we do have?

that confidence you’re looking for? you’ve got it!

self confidence becomes more evident the more you use it.

discipline?

you’ve got the discipline. you’ve got the focus.

discipline becomes easier to recognize + defer to when you are used to using it.

so you have to use it in order to see it.

if you don’t use it, you don’t know that you have it, right?

when we have a scarcity mindset, only seeing what we don’t have never seeing what we do, we constantly are searching for more.

not only do we search for more love, peace, self confidence, + traits of the like, we are constantly wanting to fill a void even with material things.

that’s why many of us, no matter how big the house or dwelling is, never have enough space.

we have storage units on the premises +/or off sight. because we never have enough space or stuff. that’s why we fill the space that we do have with so much!

going out on the town?

we’ve got to have a new outfit to take a picture in on social media, so we shop at stores that support fast fashion so we can have the latest clothes + shoes, forgetting about the outfit we just bought + can rock with a different pant or top or pair of shoes we’ve already got to switch it up + add a lil variety.

we have to have that new-new.

in those instances, we are constantly chasing something that is elusive.

also, being tied down to things has us screaming for, pleading, + begging for freedom when it’s something that’s already here.

we’re constantly at work all of the time because we have to support the habit that we’ve created for ourselves.

we have to pay for the lifestyle that we are wanting to live.

+ when we don’t recognize that we have the freedom of choice, then for us it seems like: oh my gosh. i have to do this in order to survive.

it’s you + then it’s the circumstances

you have the freedom to choose + you exercise that freedom every day —

  • you choose what you eat,
  • you choose how you spend your money,
  • you choose where you work,
  • you are currently choosing to stay in this story of your life.

this is the story you are choosing to live out.

now am I saying that there aren’t other factors at play?

yes, of course there are external factors at play + most times, we are unable to control these factors.

the circumstances don’t matter.

there is always something out of our control.

what do you want to do?

say what you want + do something different.

proclaim what you want to do in your life + allow your actions to follow through with that.

that’s a choice, too.

be specific about what you want + ask yourself:

does my current lifestyle support those choices that i want to see in my life?

in my visual of this dream life, what lifestyle choices am i making to support the dream?

this isn’t to discourage you from achieving what you want in life, but realize what we have now + what we keep in our lives is dependent on our mindsets.

we are given what we can currently handle; what our mindsets can currently support.

when we dream for more it informs us that there’s more work to do internally, first.

automatically we think working our fingers down to the bone is the answer, but that’s a limited perspective.

the change you want to see must happen inside first, then the outside reflects what happens inside.

this is why when we see folks win the lottery or inherit large sums of money, when their internal work is in shambles, they money is gone just as quickly as it came.

the mindset doesn’t know how to support what we see in the physical world.

our mindsets have to support what we want to see in the 3D.

over the course of the week, when you find yourself “looking for something” or referencing lack, cease the conversation or thought + immediately reframe.

the way to get over lack is to recognize abundance.

you see lack, you see lack.

you see abundance, you see abundance.

literally stop yourself mid thought, mid sentence, + reframe the way you talk to + about yourself, a situation, or an experience.

recognize that thought is not the story you want to live.

recognize that the thought doesn’t align with who you truly are + what you want in life.

stop that thought right then + there, + change how you view life.

let’s do some reframing!

reframe #1

instead of:

i don’t have the patience to be fooling with this…

think or say:

i am having a hard time figuring out what to do right now. calm + creativity find me in moments like these. i’m waiting before proceeding.

notice how in that sentence, thought, + reframe, you are acknowledging the patience you do have while also using it:

i’m waiting before proceeding…calm + creativity find me…

you’re saying you have the power to figure life out.

you’re saying you have the power to wait + to remain calm.

you are recognizing the challenge that’s in front of you + not giving that challenge any power to defeat you.

what?! that’s so much you’ve acknowledged in that one sentence, in that one thought! it’s a win-win!

reframe #2

instead of:

i really need this money to come through

consider saying:

right now, i have everything i need. i always receive exactly what i need when i need it.

that is power coming out of your mouth:

  • you have everything you need
  • you lack nothing
  • you always receive exactly what you need when you need it

so even though you may not have it in your physical possession right now, you acknowledge that it’s on the way to you.

you have to believe that what you are seeking is there.

speak like it is.

act like it is.

go about your day as if the issue is resolved, the challenge has been conquered.

because when we are still thinking about it, we are worrying.

when we think about things that are not in the immediate or the present, we are worrying.

when we are worried about it, we aren’t focused on what’s happening right now.

when we aren’t present, we miss opportunities that are right in front of us.

when we miss opportunities, we feel like there are none + that we are lacking.

when we feel we’re lacking, we feel like we need something, worry about getting it, + the cycle repeats itself.

additionally, keep reciting those affirmations!

for 21 days straight we are reciting previously written affirmations.

continue reciting your affirmations this week.

check out the previous episode if you have not to get a jumpstart on this action step.

my final thoughts:

we have it all.

we have it all.

anything that we can imagine is already within us.

we were born with the ability to cultivate what we already have to get everything we want.

use your innate abilities,

use your skills,

use your knowledge,

use your resources,

use everything you’ve already got to get exactly what you want.

use everything you’ve picked up along the way to get exactly what you want.

there’s a reason why you were born with certain talents,

there’s a reason you’ve spent your life learning about a particular subject,

there’s a reason you have lived those experiences + are on the other side of them right now,

there’s a reason you have these people in your life,

+ that reason is this moment.

this is the moment where you put everything you’ve learned so far into use.

this is the moment where you recognize your growth + understand that this is only the beginning.

this is the moment where you acknowledge that what you have now is enough, hell more than enough, to get you where you’ve always wanted to go.

this is the moment where you see just how far you’ve come + just how far you have to go — life doesn’t stop here, fam!

it’s this moment that you realize that everything is working for your good — everything!

i’ve seen ants come together to build extravagant colonies, very intricate ant communities, with grains of sand.

using what they’ve got to get what they want.

you, too, are capable to live the life you’ve always wanted to live.

it will take you learning to use what you have — your talents, your knowledge, your skills, your wisdom, + the support of others, to get you there.

you have all of that right now.

walk with the confidence that it’s done, it’s figured out, it’s handled, that everything is copasetic by believing in yourself, by believing in your capabilities, + by believing in your community.

you’ve got this.

[/mepr-show]

i appreciate you taking the time to read + listen!

thank you for being here today.

thank you for taking it all in.

thank you for listening, for learning, + for applying what you’ve learned.

+ most importantly, i thank you for being you.

i’ll see you on the next episode. 👋🏾

be you, be dope!
