dear dope chick,

welcome + welcome back!

we’re gonna get right to it —

are you ready to take action today?

what you’ll need:

for those who are new here, who haven’t been here in quite a while, or have been rockin’ with me since day one —

dear dope chick™ is an action based podcast so that means that every single episode you are challenged to take one small step that aligns with living life on your own terms.

that means you’re taking one step today that aligns with the lifestyle that you most desire.

there’s always the choice

of course you don’t have to do anything today.

of course you can choose not to do anything today.

that is a part of living life on your own terms:

  • knowing that you want to do
  • knowing your own limitations
  • determining what you will + will not do
  • what you’re willing to try
  • what you’re willing to deny

— that is all your choice.

however, i highly encourage you to do something for yourself today.

something that will put you on the path of living life the way that you’ve always dreamed of

it takes initiative

living life on your own terms takes initiative.

it takes you saying, “you know what? i’m fed up. i’m tired of this shit. i’m ready for different.”

we can’t make that decision for you.

no one else in this world can do that.

only you hold that type of power + it’s gonna be you who determines what steps, if any, you take today.

you owe it to yourself to steer your life in the direction that you’ve always wanted to go + you can do that for yourself today.

let’s get to work!

so, grab a notebook or journal that is dedicated to this podcast so that you can participate in the activities and exercises discussed; to see how much you have grown over the course of your life.

have you heard our previous episodes?

not yet ready do the activities presented in this episode?

we have others that may interest you so if you aren’t familiar or haven’t heard our previous episodes, take a listen so that you can make an informed choice today.

you can listen to them here.

to do this week:

through it all, choose love.

today’s action is to love yourself fully + completely.

through the thick + thin

through sickness + in health

through hardships + ease

love yourself through it all, through every nook + cranny of living.

over the course of the week

over the course of the week, remind yourself that you are worthy.

your love isn’t reserved for times when you’re doing “good” or for when you’re “right” or for only when others approve of your actions.

others may have imposed this belief on you, but that way of thinking ends today.

love yourself through it all

remind yourself how worthy you are of love; how deserving you are of love.

give yourself the love that you feel you are lacking in your life —

the love that you’ve been looking far + wide for

the love that you’ve always wanted them to tell you that they have for you

the love that you’ve so endlessly been searching for all of your life —

the quest ends today.

give yourself some love

i’m not saying wanting to be loved is good or bad.

we are all interdependent on one another + we all do need to be loved.

we like to feel embraced by others

we like to feel intimate with others

we like to feel nurtured + cared for

+ that is okay to feel those ways.

(+ we are, even when we don’t feel it, but that’s another topic for another day).

also understand: you deserve that same type of love + grace that you are giving out to others.

there’s still something holding you back

you may say you love someone else unconditionally through the thick + thin, but if you’re not extending yourself that same grace how much love are you actually giving to others?

unless you are actively working to dissolve it, there is still a condition programmed in the back of your mind holding you back from loving fully + completely.

it’s there. it’s been there. what are you doing to address it?

now is it easy to get over something like this?

is it easy to love people unconditionally?

is it easy to say “you know what? despite all of your flaws + all, i still love you“?

i don’t know if it’s easy.

i don’t know if it’s suppose to be.

i don’t know if it has to be.

should it be?

i don’t know think anything should or shouldn’t be.

there’s no right or wrong to this.

this is your journey to rediscovering self-love.

in your journey it not be the easiest action to play out;

however, hard doesn’t mean impossible.

hard doesn’t mean you can’t.

are you willing? is the question

your willingness leads to a belief that it can happen.

if you believe that it can happen for you + you believe you can do that for yourself, then what’s the limitation on extending this love to anyone else?

you can take everything that you’ve learned about yourself + everything that you’ve applied to yourself + give it out freely to others because you understand that we are all connected + what you’ve been practicing with yourself can be practiced with others.

you’ve seen it in action + you’ve seen it work.

you’ve seen how awesome it is, how magnificent it is love yourself through it all.

that excitement alone can propel you to give that same grace, to give that same understanding, to give that same unconditional love to someone else.

additionally, keep reciting those affirmations!

for 21 days straight we are reciting previously written affirmations.

continue reciting your affirmations this week.

check out the previous episode if you have not to get a jumpstart on this action step.

affirmation cards are here!

my final thoughts:

are you willing to love yourself through it?

to love yourself through the disappointment of not getting the results you were hoping for?

to love yourself through the shock that comes with admitting + accepting that you aren’t perfect?

to love yourself through the discomfort you’ve caused yourself in fully surrendering to the healing + reclamation process?

to love yourself through the hurt of finding out they don’t love you back?

are you willing to love yourself through it?

even in the midst of the shittest situations + circumstances, you deserve love.

saying your love is unconditional is one thing,

giving yourself unconditional love + extending that to others is another.

fully loving yourself takes practice.

loving yourself fully + completely is not the easiest action to do especially when you’ve been programmed to receive conditional love.

withholding love is a power trip for people who practice it.

because they aren’t giving you the love, the attention, the time, the acknowledgement, the respect that you deserve, they want you to feel powerless.

withholding love is a fear based practice.

consider the source

people who withhold love want to flex a power play over you not realizing they are powerless over you.

if they wanna keep their little love, let them keep it because there is so much more love out there.

they are not the only source of love.

the source where love comes from is one that tends to trip us up, so hear this —

you don’t have to look for love from everyone because:

  • you are enveloped in love
  • you are made with love
  • you were designed with love
  • you were designed with care + attention to detail

do you see yourself? do you see yourself?

whoever made you ain’t no ho!

you are made with love, with attention + with intention.

do you see that smile?

do you see those eyes?

do you see how every eyelash is in place?

your hands were made with so much grace.

do you see how designed they are?

your fingerprints alone have stood the test of time + said “hey, ain’t nobody like me!“.

from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet, your vessel is divinely designed.

but you know what’s even better? the soul of you.

your spirit reigns supreme. your spirit is love.

tap into yourself.

tap into your spirit. tap into your soul. tap into who you are at your core.

at your core, you are love unconditional.

you are a beaming ball of joy, infectious + ready to spread itself from place to place.

you don’t wanna keep that within you, do you?

this joy + love that you have, the world didn’t give it to you + the world cannot take it away.

know that in your heart, you are who you are + no one can strip you of that.

give yourself the space to make questionable decisions, to raise red flags, to try + try again all while giving yourself love + care throughout the process.

you deserve it.

[/mepr-show]

i appreciate you taking the time to read + listen!

thank you for showing up today.

thank you for being here.

thank you for giving yourself time to think about it.

action isn’t all movement, it requires stillness as well.

taking the time to be still, to listen, to explore — i thank you.

+ most importantly, i thank you for being you.

i’ll see you on the next episode. 👋🏾

be you, be dope!
