dear dope chick,
welcome + welcome back!
so glad you decided to stop by.
are you ready to take action today?
what you’ll need:
for those who are new here, who haven’t been here in quite a while, or have been rockin’ with me since day one —
dear dope chick™ is an action based podcast so that means that every single episode you are challenged to take one small step that aligns with living life on your own terms.
that means you’re taking one step today that aligns with the lifestyle that you most desire.
so, you have a choice:
you always have a choice.
every single waking moment of your life you are given choices.
you get to decide what path you will take.
now, do we mindlessly engage in activities that lead us down a path of destruction because we are not putting in the effort to redirect our lives?
absolutely. sometimes this is totally the case.
that’s when personal accountability + responsibility come into play.
what are you willing to do for yourself today?
do i have to start today?
it’s up to you.
however, i am encouraging you to really reassess where you are right now + decide whether or not you want to continue down this path or if you are willing to take a different route to get to where you want to go.
take some type of action today!
you do not have to continue down this path.
you can divert, redirect, + keep going.
connect to your internal gps.
think about how your gps system works.
if you take a turn prematurely or you’ve gone down a street in which you were directed to go, it will recalculate your steps to put you back on path to reach your chosen destination.
are you willing to recalculate your steps right now + go down the path to live the lifestyle you most desire?
you owe it to yourself to steer your life in the direction that you’ve always wanted to go + you can do that for yourself today.
let’s get to work!
so, grab a notebook or journal that is dedicated to this podcast so that you can participate in the activities and exercises discussed; to see how much you have grown over the course of your life.
have you heard our previous episodes?
not yet ready do the activities presented in this episode?
we have others that may interest you so if you aren’t familiar or haven’t heard our previous episodes, take a listen so that you can make an informed choice today.
you can listen to them here.
to do this week:
home improvement, time!
today’s action is to turn your problems into improvements.
so problems are situations, circumstances, + experiences we face that don’t align with our current desires.
when we see something that is problematic, it’s likely something that doesn’t align with who we are + our projections of how the world should work.
so today, instead of complaining, what about reframing what we deem as problematic into a situation or a circumstance or an experience worth improving?
is it really problematic or are you unwilling to change?
in this instance, it’s not about what you can do, it’s about what you’re willing to do.
we can do a lot of things. we are so full of potential. we are boundless in possibility. we have so many opportunities out there that we can take advantage of.
but it’s not about that.
it’s about what we are willing to do.
- what are you willing do to improve your problematic situation right now?
- will you call + reach out to that person to resolve the conflict?
- will you decide that the relationship is no longer worth entertaining + sever ties?
- will you decide enough is enough + even though the holidays are coming up you won’t touch the problematic foods? You know, the ones that leave you with bubble guts + takes your body days + weeks to recover from?
- will you choose to save that cash instead of blowing it on another “but I need it” impulse purchase? will you ask yourself why you need it + see if the item sparks joy before bringing it home?
- will you practice self restraint before commenting on something that has absolutely nothing to do with you, regardless of how strong of an opinion you have on situation, circumstance, or experience?
- are you willing to get rid of all the junk + stuff you’ve accumulated over time before deeming your house as unlivable or not spacious enough?
are you willing to reframe how you address + see a problem, + utilize that information to improve your situation?
all problems are a reflection of what’s happening in your mind right now. they are reflections of how you process information, so another way we can look at problems is by viewing them as feedback.
are you willing to look deeply at your point of view + change the way you are viewing this world?
because everything isn’t problematic.
is struggling problematic?
do we struggle? yes! everyone struggles.
struggles are not necessarily problems.
is struggling a challenge? sure.
it can be challenging to get over some things.
facing a challenge doesn’t mean the situation is unsolvable; doesn’t mean that by accepting that some things don’t change that we agree with it.
it’s okay to accept the things that we cannot control.
it is okay to accept what life is handing over to us.
can we make improvements? absolutely.
the question is:
are you willing to make those improvements today?
over the course of the week, when you see an area in your life that doesn’t align with who you are, work to improve it.
small steps, big impact.
however small that may look — for example:
problem: you need more water
possible solution: taking a cup of water first before drinking anything else — so if you want a sip of soda, have a cup of water on deck.
for every sip of a beverage that isn’t water (i.e. soda, coffee, wine, etc.), drink a cup of water first.
you need more water, period.
this option doesn’t deprive you of the other beverage you desire, but it also gives your body the water it needs to function.
are you willing to do that?
problem: you need more money
option 1: as mentioned above, call yourself out before making impulse purchases.
option 2: you can use cash only as a means to pay.
option 3: are you willing to use a budget? if not, there are other options.
option 4: you can potentially have your paycheck direct deposited into multiple accounts — i.e. one for bills, one for housing, one for emergencies, one for personal spending, etc. + only use the personal spending account to get what you think is necessary for you — i.e. new clothes, shoes, hobby supplies, etc.
option 5: if you’re not already, use your gifts as means of service.
you bake? bake for others. you knit? knit for others. you write? write for others.
are you willing to do anything to improve your financial situation?
if so, what are you willing to do?
additionally, keep reciting those affirmations!
for 21 days straight we are reciting previously written affirmations.
continue reciting your affirmations this week.
check out the previous episode if you have not to get a jumpstart on this action step.

my final thoughts:
i know you can do a lot of things.
you have the potential to do whatever you’d like in this world.
what are you willing to do to get what you want?
this isn’t a rhetorical question.
this is real life:
what are you willing to do to get what you want?
use your journal right now + write down what you’re willing to do to get what you want out of life.
- are you willing to give up life as you know it now to live the life you most desire?
- are you willing to redefine how you are in this space?
- are you willing to take up space?
- are you willing to show up for yourself? even when times are hard, are you willing to do that for yourself?
- are you willing to risk not appearing perfect?
- are you willing to showcase your true self? are willing to be completely vulnerable + to be honest with who you are + what you’re about?
- are you willing to be unapologetic about how you are doing life?
- are you willing to improve your problems?
- are you willing to be an active participant in your life?
- are you willing to be the person that you’ve always wanted to be?
start that today.
what are you waiting for?
who are you waiting for?
what circumstance are you waiting for?
none of that shit matters.
what matters most is your willingness to take action.
take the action today.
behave as if it’s already done for you.
behave as if this life that you’ve always desired is happening for you right now.
behave as if that’s what the deal is.
because it is.
until you start behaving “as if”, you won’t see the changes that you want to see because your mind is still stuck on whatever you’ve been doing before.
you’re not able to really be in these moments or to fully understand + see that life is working out for you.
you can’t see it because you’re stuck in another perspective.
it’s not a problem, it’s a chance to improve.
are you willing to improve your situation?
[/mepr-show]

i wanna thank you for being here.
thank you for showing up today.
thank you for taking the out of your schedule to sit, to listen, to learn, + to implement.
most importantly, i want to thank you for being you.
i’ll see you on the next episode. 👋🏾
be you, be dope!
