you don’t deserve all that

beware of the shit you say to yourself when you mess up.

there’s honestly no reason why you are talking to yourself like you aren’t important, like you don’t matter.

ease up on that harsh tone + critique,

+ extend yourself some grace.

you don’t deserve all that.

our inner talk can sometimes taint our perspective.

no one should be hollering at anyone over spilled milk (unless it’s liquid gold… j/k kinda not really )

but in all seriousness,

we all fall short.

we all make mistakes.

we all can afford to be kinder to ourselves when we fumble + stumble.

i can’t say i’ve always heard kind words from others when i’ve made a mistake,

+ ultimately my self talk reflected what i heard.

but you know what’s dope?

every day i make a conscious effort to change that.

i don’t have to suffer by my own inner voice.

i love myself + i’ll be damned if i don’t speak to myself like i do!

you have a choice to make today, sis —

you can decide to uplift yourself through your words + your actions.

you can decide to be kind to yourself.

locate that inner voice that is firm, yet fair.

the one that doesn’t mind telling you that,

you’ve got this, you can do this!”

that’s the encouragement you deserve.

be you, be dope!
