on this journey, you will encounter those whose words you can get with,
+ then there are those whose opinions + viewpoints are the total opposite from yours.
what if i told you to not write them off —
it’s too easy to do that.
you can learn so much from these encounters, fam.
maybe others thoughts don’t align with yours but guess what?
growth + learning happens even in moments of disagreement.
what do we learn?
we learn about ourselves —
what we like,
what we don’t like,
where our moral compass lies,
how our beliefs affect our interactions,
how we can actively listen to someone without being persuaded,
how much we will tolerate from others,
our ability to not internalize any + everything, +
how to be + let others be.
we also learn that we can’t control others, but we can control how we react in times of disagreement, conflict, or tension.
major life lessons!
i ain’t saying welcome the chaos because no one has time for bullshit.
well i won’t say no one i’ll say me — i don’t have time for the bullshit (something i’ve learned from past interactions 😜).
however, when the opportunity presents itself + cannot be eluded (+ there are times when this will happen),
we can learn that we can make it through challenging times!
there is value in it all.
it’s on you to see it, learn from it, + apply it to your life.
be you, be dope!
