we ain’t on that no more

you’ve heard about dream killers, but do you know who fits that title the most in your life?

you most likely.

you’ve talked yourself out of countless opportunities,

you’ve given up before you’ve even started,

hell, you’ve counted yourself out, gave the bare minimum, + justified your lack of effort with, “well, it wasn’t going to work out, anyway…”

we ain’t on that no more, fam.

we are giving ourselves the benefit of the doubt.

we are giving ourselves space to sort things out, to learn, + to correct.

we are giving ourselves + others our best efforts, not that mediocre shit you’re used to putting out.

how do i even start that process, P?

you change how you use your inner voice.

you talk to yourself like you love yourself.

you practice + showcase gentleness.

you question the validity of your statements — is this true?

then, you make time for yourself to do what you need to do.

you make time for rest + relaxation, for restoration + renewal.

you exercise patience during the learning process.

you promise yourself that no matter what, you will apologize to yourself when you talk that out of line talk.

right now, this very moment, take some time to talk to yourself.

apologize to yourself for overstepping your boundaries + for talking yourself out of your dopeness.

tell yourself how dope you are + let yourself know you’ve got your back.

give yourself the best pep talk you’ve ever given anyone + follow up with the show up.

dream killers are everywhere —

don’t make yourself the culprit in killing your own.

be you, be dope!
