whenever i get an urge to doubt what my imagination conceives, i ask myself this:
where did all of this come from?
the big bold spots on a ladybug’s back,
the architectural details on a tea house,
the wispy clouds, the phone you have in your hand —
where did it all come from?
not to minimize the power of our imaginations, but it’s really as simple as that.
everything you see with your two eyes started with an idea.
where did that idea come from?
well, someone — an inventor, the Creator, an artist, your ancestor, etc. — had a vision.
that vision was conceived through their imagination.
when i step back + think about that, all i can say is “wow“. 😮
so why is it that we are reluctant to use our imaginations to their fullest potential?
there’s obviously nothing that can defy the imagination.
anyone can create anything in their minds!
where we experience a hiccup is in execution.
we sometimes have a hard time believing that our imaginations, the powerhouses of dope ass ideas, are real.
hear me: your imagination is very real! so:
- daydream often + keep your dreams alive.
- write down your dreams, your thoughts, + your ideas (yes, even those you feel are too out there to take action).
- let your mind wander off into distant thoughts + give them the chance to reach unthinkable heights.
- don’t censor yourself, don’t diminish or downplay your ability to dream big!
- allow your imagination to fuel your intentions (game👏🏾changer👏🏾! you’ll be surprised at how closely related they are).
+ above all, stay consistent + creative, fam.
today, find gratitude in your innate vision.
you were born with a life-altering tool — now’s the time to use it. 🖤
be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:
take 5-10 minutes to imagine your life 5 years from now.
write down what you see, how that feels, + one small step you can take today that aligns you with that vision.
