doing something to improve your situation is better than doing nothing + feeling stuck.
it takes a certain amount of awareness to decide to do something different, so doing something, no matter how “small” it may seem, is a perfect place to start.
give yourself some credit for starting.
you’ve designated a journal for journaling.
you’ve bought the ingredients for a nutritious meal.
you’ve started going to bed earlier.
you’ve set timers on your phone for social media usage.
that’s a start.
now it’s time to up the ante.
sit down + write in your journal.
prep the ingredients so you can make the meal.
resist using your phone while in bed so you can actually rest.
honor the time limit you’ve set + avoid using the bypass feature.
two things can be true at once:
you can acknowledge the steps you’ve made + at the same time, continue taking the necessary actions that reflect the change you want to see.
during the long jump field event, participants take smaller strides before taking a big leap into the sand for the final jump.
like the long jump, you’re on a long journey.
taking the small strides are necessary to reach where you’re going, fam.
consistently + intentionally taking the “small” steps, when compounded, produce major results.
you have the tools, now use the momentum you have from the smaller steps you’ve taken to level up.
when you feel discouraged + it seems like you aren’t doing enough, remember you’re doing something + that’s definitely better than nothing!
be you, be dope!
