we’d love to wish it away

nothing in this world is inherently good or bad.

this includes, but is not limited to:

  • people
  • situations or circumstances
  • ideas or thoughts

are there things you don’t rock with?

sure.

does that make them bad?

not at all.

are there things you will die on a hill for?

absolutely.

does that make them good?

not even in the slightest.

we all have our likes + dislikes + still, our likes + dislikes are not universal law.

also, think about how biased our perspectives are at times.

clouds are a sight to behold when they are fluffy, non obstructive, + without rain.

then those same clouds are cursed for being visible when clear skies are desired, for not shielding the sun when hot days are upon us, + for not carrying rain when we are in a drought.

that doesn’t make the cloud good or bad.

the cloud simply is + it’s doing what it does best: being a cloud.

everything serves a purpose in this world, fam.

sometimes the role it plays is favorable,

other times we’d love to wish it away,

but all the time it is teaching us something about ourselves + how we perceive the world.

+ that’s a lesson worth learning.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

think back to when you first learned about the concept of good + bad.

what do you remember being told about what’s good + bad, right + wrong?

are your current beliefs reflective of this indoctrination (let’s call a spade a spade, okay)? explain.
