what everyone else is doing with their time + talents

if someone has to lose in order for you to win, you’ve admitted two things about yourself:

one —

you are somehow + in someway inferior to the person

two —

you have something to prove

no one is better than you, fam.

why you believe that to be true is something you have to uncover for yourself.

additionally, there’s no need to prove how much you can do.

i promise, unless you’re in an actual competition, we don’t have to know how good you are at something in comparison to someone else.

scratch that — even when you are in an actual competition, we don’t have to know how good you are at something in comparison to someone else.

simply be you.

no need to ever flex on anyone, your capabilities will shine through at the perfect moment.

so no, you don’t have to win a foot race against a 2 year old 😅 + no, you don’t have to think about beating anyone else out for your company’s sales incentive.

as long as you’re doing what needs to be done, you don’t have to worry about what everyone else is doing with their time + talents.

commit to doing your best. period.

if you need to say anything to others during this process, miss them with the taunting + instead, encourage + support them in their best efforts, too.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

when you know you can do something better than someone, do you feel you have to prove that you can? why or why not?
