there isn’t a course in the world that can teach this,
nor is there a book that you can read to master the art + skill.
the way to a self-disciplined life is through practice.
you don’t try to do it, you do it.
you aren’t reading about it to make it a thing, you’re doing it.
you aren’t consulting with others on their how-to’s, you’re being disciplined.
however, showing intentionality about what you’re doing is to first acknowledge that this skill already resides within you; you use every single day.
you are self-disciplined in your current routine —
you’re gonna eat that sweet after dinner.
you’re for sure gonna stop + get that coffee before work.
hell, you know for sure that at 7PM you’ll be on the couch, remote in hand, ready to watch your show.
but why, though, fam?
why do you do these things that you can ditch or do differently + not what your core feels you must do?
discipline yourself in what matters most to you.
i say that like you’re not already doing that, but the request isn’t to simply do it, it’s to think about what you’re doingbefore you engage in said activity.
concentrate your efforts toward something that’s meaningful + fulfilling.
who, if anyone, does it help? who benefits from this action?
how, if in any way, does it serve those around you?
what thought are you putting behind your efforts?
does it mean something to you, fam?
discipline yourself to act in alignment with your “why”.
today, discipline yourself to act with purpose on purpose.
today, move with the utmost intention + courage to get what must be done, done.
be you, be dope!
