why we suffer the way we do

waking up + doing the same thing over + over again can sometimes feel mundane + uninspired. 😵‍💫

but that’s what consistency + discipline look like, right?

it looks like showing up regularly + doing what you know needs to be done.

what? you thought there was some secret shortcut to living life on your own terms?

you thought this email was gonna put you on game on how to implement some new + improved technique to help circumvent mentally taxing work?

regardless of how you feel about it, focus on doing the work with purpose, compassion, + promise.

purposefully show up today.

shit, you’re here on purpose.

it ain’t no accident you’re alive, well, + fully capable of doing what must be done today.

show care + concern for what you’ve got going on.

changing the world, changing your world — changing anything for that matter, requires compassion.

compassion is grace personified, an understanding that everyone, including yourself, is doing their best with what they have right now + that our best varies from day to day, moment to moment.

so, promise yourself that you won’t give up; that you’ll keep going, keep changing, keep evolving, + giving your best.

no matter how hard this work gets, no matter how taxing it is your spirit, remember why you do what you do + do it with your best efforts.

our attitudes are the main reason why we suffer the way we do.

when you feel like life is tough + unfair,

when you feel like showing up + doing the work is uninspiring + boring,

when you feel like you wanna give people the same energy they give to you from a vindictive standpoint,

remember feelings aren’t facts.

feelings are feedback

with time, effort, + intentionally, eventually feelings fade.

decide how you want to feel about the opportunity to show up in the present for your future, for our collective future.

you may not feel like taking the time to do it right now — do what you can with that you have.

showing up + doing some work is always better than a no call, no show.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

sit down + calm your mind for a moment + repeat this mantra:

i break the cycle of suffering + welcome peace into this space. i am committed to giving my best efforts to all that i do today + am fully embracing the process of transformation.

repeat it five times.

how do you feel after repeating this mantra? do you feel like changing your mindset + perspective about life as you know it is worth the effort? why or why not?
