time to start undoing the doings

you won’t get it “right” every time, fam.

you’ll stumble on + over your words.

you’ll do things you didn’t mean to do.

you’ll even find that sometimes the words you speak + the actions you execute have such a negative charge radiating from them, you’ll feel compelled to apologize for them.

yes, unfortunately what is inside of you will find it’s way out to the light.

fortunately, getting it out of your system is a way to release the chokehold it has on your heart.

whether in deep meditation, fervent prayer, through journaling, or by pausing before speaking, taking your time + choosing to dismiss thoughts that fail to align with who you are at your core is daily work.

it’s work that requires discipline, it’s work that requires of consistency, + it’s work that requires patience + understanding.

give yourself grace when you have the occasional outbursts + when you move in front of patience.

give yourself time to process what has happened + the impact it’s made on others.

+ most importantly, forgive yourself.

your perceived missteps + mistakes perfectly align with where the learning + growth happens; where the work needs to be done.

be grateful for it all — the good, the bad, + the ugly, + continue learning, continue growing, + continue doing the work.

you ain’t perfect, fam; however, now is the perfect time to start undoing the doings of your past actions.

today, move with reflection + with the confidence that the daily work you’re doing on yourself has a positive effect on others.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

before speaking + doing today, did you pause + reflect?

if so, did that pause + reflection provide more clarity? explain.

if not, do you think pausing + reflecting are useful? why or why not?
