the dark + difficult times of life

in this moment, it may seem like it’s the end of the world.

in the grand scheme of things, this is only a setback… + a minor one at that!

stand still + notice how it feels to come face-to-face with disappointment.

give yourself permission to grieve your losses, to identify your pain points, + to put into words how you feel.

today, allow life’s pain + struggles to remind you that life is fragile + that this, too, shall pass.

these inconveniences you face can be labeled anything from slight or major + that still doesn’t change the fact that you can find your way to the other side of them.

thankfully, these moments won’t last forever, fam.

not to mention, they carry purpose serving as pivotal points to your growth, to your journey, + to your overall wellbeing.

but let’s be real: it’s hard to see the light when you’re surrounded by darkness.

so do yourself a solid + sit still in that darkness for a while.

when one sits still in darkness, their eyes become acclimated to their environment + in time, they begin seeing in the dark what otherwise was damn near impossible to see.

likewise, allow your eyes, your heart, + your mind time to adjust to your current situation so that you, too, can see what you had a hard time seeing at first.

eventually, you will see a light, fam.

no matter how intense it may or may not be, the light will not escape you.

who knows? you may notice that the light originates within you.

the hope you carry is bright enough to light up your life + illuminate even your darkest path.

keep putting forth your best efforts + keep hope alive.

you’ve got what it takes to get through difficult, dark, + dank times.

this, too, shall pass.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what are your current hopes + dreams? don’t leave out anything you wish to accomplish or that you hope to experience.

carry these in your heart + keep these in your mind as you matriculate through your day.
