finally, the true purpose of anxiety!

ever wonder the purpose of anxiety?

it’s designed to get to grab our attention —

“hey, check this out. i don’t know if you’ll like this or not, but… 😬”

once we begin feeling uneasy + uncomfortable, + start questioning what’s happening with major concern + worry, anxiety’s role in that moment is pretty much done.

you’d think seeing itself out of the moment is what it will do next, but nooooooo!

it’s waiting around for two things, fam:

it wants acknowledgement for a job well done + it wants to be released.

today, thank anxiety for doing it’s job in your life.

it’s heightened your awareness,

it’s raised your concerns,

+

it’s even cued up ‘flight or fight’ response in your body.

when i say it does the damn thang, whew chile… + it does it well, too!

once you have acknowledged its presence, let it go.

anxiety has given us pause for long enough, fam.

now it’s time for us to understand that its role as the master of discomfort is done (at least for now).

the duality of its purpose is for us to take notice and to take action.

without discomfort, there is no change.

without awareness, there is no indication that we must do something different.

as crippling as our anxieties may have been in the past, they are always working for our highest good.

anxiety encourages us to take a step toward the experience we wish to have in life; to take some action.

say your thank yous + goodbyes for now…

because there is life beyond anxiety + today, you can choose to live beyond it.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what has your anxiety taught you about what you want in your life?

what has it shown you about your rigidity/rigid approach to life?

what has it revealed to you about the ways in which you handle change?
