an all out saint + they do not care!

imagine you’re out here feeding those in need,

reading books to kids + holding nicu babies,

knitting coats, scarves, + mittens for those impacted by winter weather,

drinking water + minding your business,

+

giving back to the community in which you reside,

+ someone fixes their lips to say,

“nope. that ain’t it”.

are you gonna stop because of their words?

are you going to let their opinion of what you do sway you from doing the valuable work you do?

because hear this:

people say “nope. that ain’t it” every single day.

they complain about what you’re doing,

they complain about what you’re not doing,

they even have the audacity to tell you how you should be doing something when they’ve never lifted a finger or attempted to do what you do.

let. 👏🏾 them. 👏🏾 talk. 👏🏾!

their opinions + their problems are theirs + theirs alone.

what you are doing means something; it matters.

obviously not to them, but that’s not your intended audience anyway.

who you’re touching in this lifetime extends beyond the “nope. that ain’t it” people who don’t find delight in the value that you bring.

there are gonna be those who don’t like what you do + who don’t like you because you’re you.

you do you.

the complaints come with the praise —

don’t be swayed by either one, fam.

today, have the courage + confidence to continue being the best version of you that you can be right now.

continue living life on your own terms, experiencing life the way you see fit regardless of who approves, + pressing forward doing what must be done even when folks ain’t rockin’ with you.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

be honest with yourself — when others don’t find value in the things that you do, does it make you hesitate doing them, sharing your interests, +/or stop doing what you’re doing altogether? why or why not?
