finding a voice after being silent + compliant

innately, you are an extremely curious being at your core.

you are down to explore the depths of life + undercover the why of it all.

learning is your jam, too!

from birth, you’ve learned so much about life through exploration, through questioning, through listening, + through observing.

then, somewhere along the way you were asked for silence + compliance.

for some of us it came in the form of blind obedience (stop asking me why + do as i say).

for others it came with forced submission: spankings, poppings, verbal abuse, beat downs, etc.

whichever form it came in, that silence + compliance installation era created a riff in our way of thinking.

it paused the exploration, it calmed the curiosity, + it left us with questions that remain unanswered.

for others of us, we were encouraged to explore, to think freely, + to try + try some more.

regardless of your upbringing, you have a chance to reconnect with all you thought you lost today.

believe it or not, you are still an explorer at heart. 🖤

you’ve been wanting to know + meaning to ask, + quite frankly you’ve put it off for long enough.

today, get out there + explore.

make the connections through discovery, take the risk of learning something new, + focus your efforts into uncovering the depths of living a full + rich life.

you deserve to experience life on a different front.

allow your curiosity to pull out the best in you.

before you know it, you’ll be unlocking a new level within that you never knew existed until this moment.

all it takes is your openness to learning more about life around you + exploring your options.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what did you want to become when you grew up?

what/who do you want to become now?

what, if anything, changed your mind along the way?
