there is more to life than this

pretending has to be one of the most tiring tasks to perform.

imagine you’re out here living a life that doesn’t feel true or authentic to you all for the sake of appearances + the approval of others.

imagine you sitting on questions + remaining willfully ignorant because you don’t want people knowing, better yet thinking that you don’t know all of the answers.

imagine not accepting people for who they are because you have a hard time accepting who you are +/or allowing people to get to know the truest form of you.

how tired do you have to be of pretending to finally challenge + change your outlook on life, fam?

when is enough enough?

today, realize you deserve to walk in truth.

you deserve to be yourself, to ask questions to learn more about life, + to get to know yourself on an intimate level.

allow yourself to accept yourself for who you are in this moment.

sure, you may not be where you want to be, but you are exactly where you need to be right now —

you’re at the point of realization that pretending is exhausting + that there is more to life than wishing yourself away to make way for others feelings + projections of who you should be.

for once in your life, be honest with yourself.

it takes much courage, confidence, + contentment to walk in authenticity, to extend yourself grace + forgiveness for how you’ve treated yourself in the past.

you are one dope human being, fam.

it’s time to be who you always were at your core; to live life on your own terms.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

are you tired of pretending?

if so, what will you do to courageous + confidently walk in your truth?

if not, who do you feel you need to be + why do you feel you need to be that person? why can’t you be you? better yet — who are you?
