why compete when you don’t compare?
there’s no one in this world who is exactly like you,
who can do the things that you do,
+ who can show up the way you do.
by comparing yourself to others, you’re essentially saying you’re inferior to someone else.
“well, they’ve got this, this, + this…”
okay?!?!?!?!? what are we saying here?
so, because you don’t have “it” you are less than?
having “it” makes them better than you?
c’mon, fam!
what they have is irrelevant to you living your best life, growing your gifts, walking in your purpose, + showing up as the most unapologetic version of yourself to date.
today, focus on honing your skills, using what you’ve learned + the gifts that you’ve got to enhance your life experience, + acknowledge that we are all different + that’s okay!
take life to another by learning from someone today + not using what they’ve taught you as a way to measure your own success.
what others know + do has nothing to do with you; however, what others know + can do may help you in life when you learn to accept their individuality as a gift + not as a means to compare who is living a better life.
you are one of one + if that type of uniqueness applies to you, shit — it applies to us all.
now you can take this phrase + say it with your chest because you know it to be true:
there is no need to compete with what doesn’t compare.
’cause no one compares to you. do you, boo.
be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:
can you recall the first time you compared yourself to someone else? what did you see in them that you admired? write them a letter speaking on how cool that characteristic of them is + what you admire most about them. then, write one to yourself + give yourself some well deserved love.
