when you see this, speak up

this is your reminder to stop second guessing yourself + speak up.

when you see injustices occurring, say something.

whether it’s a child, an elder, a stranger, or someone you know intimately (including yourself),

don’t sit back + watch yourself + others in a vulnerable position get bulldozed, dismissed, or criminalized.

no one is asking you to go out + protest, especially if it’s not in your heart to do such a thing,

but using your voice can turn the most dismal situation into a hopeful one.

plant the seed.

what you say + do today may not be well received, it may even appear that it went through one ear + out of the other, + that’s okay.

seeds take time to mature + grow into their intended crops.

seeds also need nourishment, patience, + space.

today, use your words + take action with intention + care.

when the timing aligns, someone will recall those same words + actions, remembering what you said + applying it in some way, shape, or form to their current situation.

instead of standing back when we witness shit that fundamentally isn’t moral or just, we must speak up + say what must be said, fam.

your voice may crack + shake, your palms my sweat, you may even stutter + stumble over your words, yet still your voice is important: use it.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

write down what’s on your heart to speak up + say. then, use your voice to read everything you wrote + practice opening + using your throat chakra today by speaking up.
