have you ever seen a hoarder’s house?
people who experience hoarding as a habit have some of any + every thing you can think of piled in their homes, yet they are still searching for more —
more space to cram their belongings into,
more items to collect,
+
even when they need help shedding the layers, they are still determined to hold onto just one more thing.
the insatiable urge to have more is an underlying issue that many people who hoard must address in order to move forward with less +/or in a more organized fashion.
likewise, though we may not be an extreme collectors of things + experience hoarding disorder, we sometimes demonstrate insatiable behaviors we must address in order to move forward with less +/or in a more organized fashion.
we have more clothes than our closets can handle,
more shoes + purses than our bank accounts can keep up with,
+
more goals that we feel we must accomplish in order to be considered … well, enough or fulfilled.
today, find the value in quality over quantity.
yes, you have 50-11 degrees, but going to get another isn’t the answer that you’re actually looking for, is it fam?
you claim you’re alone + want companionship, yet you won’t take time to stop working long enough to focus on cultivating meaningful connections + nourishing intimate + interpersonal relationships.
no doubt you’re wildly popular all over social media + you have all these influencer friends, but who are you calling when you need grounding + deep conversations about life, callings, + purpose?
who is in your corner when you need a shoulder to cry on + whose corner are you in to provide the same?
who are you able to have disagreements with + still come out having meaningful connections?
having more isn’t the flex we may think it is, it’s actually quite the contrary.
a full + rich life is a purposeful life, an intentional life, + a thoughtfully curated life; a life where you may not have everything you want, yet you have everything you need in the moment.
give meaning to today + days to come by showing up, by being present, by living on purpose, + by embracing all the positive possibilities each moment brings.
life isn’t about how many days you’ve been alive, it’s about the impact + imprint you make on the days you are living.
quality over quantity, always in all ways.
be you, be dope!
