living a life that differs from the masses can be incredibly difficult.
everyone else may want to zig when you want to zag, but then you feel compelled to zig a little with them to see what the hype is about + before you know it, there ain’t no zag in sight because you’ve gotten comfortable ziggin‘ + not zaggin‘.
doing something you don’t really want to do,
yet you do it because society tells you that you should do it
or
because your family thinks it’s what you should do
or
because your friends have somehow convinced you that it’s what you should do…
we call that peer pressure, fam.
contrary to what others may believe, you are a free agent who is capable of forming original thoughts, moving with intention, + who isn’t afraid of using the words “yes” + “no”.
so, what do you want to do?
take a moment to think about what you want to experience in your life, the quality of life you want to live, + what you’re willing to do to live the life on your own terms.
if you want to work at the neighborhood grocery store, do it.
if you want to arrange beautiful bouquets for a living, do it.
if you want to go back to school + study meteorology, do it.
today, instead of being distraught about where your life is now, be excited about where your life is headed.
it’s in this moment right here that you can make a commitment to yourself to honor what your heart desires.
no more
“i wish i had gone back to school”
or“i’ve always dreamed of …”
you have today.
you have now.
you have time.
decide what you want + begin taking the steps to make that shift happen in your life.
when others zig, you can proudly zag because you know what you want to achieve in life, fam, + it’s up to you to achieve it.
be you, be dope!
