knock knock — look who has arrived!

knock knock — someone’s unexpectedly shown up at your door.

will you let them into your humble abode?

perhaps, like most people, your answer depends on who they are + their reason for showing up at the time they did.

you vet the person at the door + determine right then + there whether they are allowed into your safe space.

welcoming them into your space with open arms may be your choice.

if they are not allowed inside, you might decide to speak with them through the door, say your piece, + then dismiss them.

you may even decide to let them go on about their day without so much as addressing them (hey — i said no solicitors, pal)!

regardless of what you decide, you have a process for vetting who is allowed into your home + it’s a clear cut boundary for you.

today, apply that same logic to your feelings.

your body + mind are your safe spaces + these uninvited feelings start to show up — what you gone do, fam?

unwanted feelings do not have to invited beyond the threshold into your sacred space.

should you decide to embody them, you can also regulate how long they linger + send them on their way when you’re tired of hosting them.

but under no circumstances are you obligated to keep them around, to entertain them, or to allow them to take residence in your space.

they are visitors — allowed guests — + when you say it’s time to go, they’ve got to go!

feelings, thoughts, people, + situations will show up unannounced + sometimes, you cannot control who or what shows up at your doorstep.

you can, however, choose who you allow to get close, what you invite inside your life, + who/what you continue to entertain.

for all of your unwelcome guests, kick they ass out to the curb without reason, explanation, or remorse.

they’ve overstayed their welcome + it’s time to let them go, fam.

don’t guilt yourself into believing you have to cater to any one +/or every thing.

this is your life + you always have a choice in the matter.

be you, be dope!
