putting your problems off on someone else,
blaming them for why you’re in the situation you’re in may feel good + justifiable in the moment;
however, it does nothing to resolve the problem at hand.
shifting blame isn’t how a problem is solved —
solving the problem is how a problem is solved.
so today i ask you:
what do you + can you control in your current situation?
let’s say you planned to host an outdoor event + it begins raining.
whether you want to blame God or global warming, the rain is falling — you cannot control that.
what can you control in this situation?
you can control what happens with your actual event.
in most cases, there is a contingency plan that states in the event of rain, you will move the event’s location, reschedule the event, +/or cancel it altogether.
no contingency plan? fine.
what are you choosing to do in the event that your event is rained out?
what you can do with the event now is your issue to solve, not the rain.
you can blame the rain for ruining your event, but it doesn’t change the outcome of said event.
you can blame whoever you want for ruining your life, your chances, your shot, your opportunity, etc., but it doesn’t change the outcome of the situation, fam.
you cannot control what others have done, are doing, or will do in the future — you are responsible for what you can control.
no more draining your energy trying to connect the dots of what happened —
it’s done.
no more wasting your time trying to hold others accountable when they don’t want to take any responsibility for the matter —
that’s over.
no more wishing people would change —
let them be who they are, fam.
today, you decide who you want to be/show up as in this moment, + how you want to move forward from here.
by taking responsibility of you, you are no longer the victim, you are a victor; someone who cares about their life + is willing to make a conscious effort to improve their lived experiences regardless of the circumstances they face in the moment.
be you, be dope!
