no matter how put together your life may be,
storms will arise.
some of these figurative storms, like natural storms, will arise seemingly out of no where + at the most unexpected times.
some will last for a few minutes with great intensity featuring some of the worst wind, flashing with lightening streaks that light up the whole sky, + rolling with thunder that you can hear miles away.
some will carrying on into the night as a steady + calm rainfall accompanied by very little theatrics.
others will be forecasted for weeks + you’ll have some time to prepare for its arrival.
thankfully, regardless of how they hit, storms do no last forever.
whether they leave a lasting impression with the damage that they’ve caused, or they quickly come + go without a trace other than the evidence of rain, they will eventually leave.
you may not always get a chance to prepare for a storm, fam, so use today to give yourself a fighting chance against them.
planning for future storms looks like doing the work you must do today.
storms need unstable conditions to build in intensity.
today, center yourself. ground yourself. approach today with the calmness that it requires, constantly reminding yourself in life’s chaotic moments that you can be still, be quiet, + be mindful.
that way, when the storms come, you can remind yourself that there is so much life on the other side of this disruption + that soon, the storm will pass.
it’s not about living your life in fear, it’s about fearlessly living your life, fam.
after a storm, you may have to clean-up debris,
you may have to toss some broken beyond repair items away + completely rebuild,
+
still you know you have your life, your health, + your strength to keep going in spite of.
life comes at you fast, + in unstable times, storms hitting are no exception to this fact.
sometimes, all you can do is sit still + patiently wait for the storm to pass because doing nothing is doing something.
be you, be dope!
