embrace whatever feels ‘new to you’ today + learn as if you have nothing in which to fall back.
readily take in today’s new experiences with wonder, with excitement, + with curiosity.
act as if what you’re learning right now is vital to your wellbeing + that all your previous successes are now obsolete.
in this moment, you have accomplished nothing — in what ways will you use this new knowledge to accomplish what your heart desires?
when we come into a new situation thinking we know everything there is to know or that we’ve well accomplished + we’ve got shit in the bag, we miss out on the most important part of learning:
a fearless + unbiased application + implementation of what we’ve learned.
when we aren’t relying on our previous experiences, we can build something unique, something that is meaningful for the moment —
something that speaks to our new convictions + gives us freedom to create, to be inspired, + to test out our theories without prejudice.
we can be fully confident in ourselves without thinking that because we’re well accomplished we cannot collaborate with others or accept support + criticism.
like a baby’s first steps, we build our way to up what we want to accomplish with fervor, with patience, with consistency, + by accepting help along the way.
today, encourage yourself to keep learning:
— read articles related to your career choice about best practices + evidence based findings to learn about recent discoveries + findings.
— learn a variety of cooking techniques, how to grow foods, + better yet, food storage recommendations (preservation tips).
— listen to people’s lived experiences + believe wtf they are saying, honor people’s pronouns +/or what they like to be called, + accept how our collective ignorance/deeply rooted systemic racism has contributed to the oppressive lifestyles of others + challenge yourself to course correct it now.
— broaden your perspectives about current policies + discuss with others (perhaps in an open forum) the reality of policy changes + how they will impact certain communities, populations, + the welfare of people.
you think you may know a lot, but you have no idea all that new information that’s out there, *|FNAME|*.
don’t prematurely doom our future by being so stuck in your ways now that you’re unwilling to learn, to grow, + to expand into the best version of yourself.
the past is the past + it’s handling itself, but the future?
that’s yours + it requires you to learn all that you can right now.
be you, be dope!
