use this power for your highest good

feeling bad about feeling bad triggers something inside of us that we never knew we had:

the ability to compound our feelings to multiply our own suffering.

while it’s hard to experience such a feeling, it’s a dope discovery —

now, we can use this power for our highest good.

we can flip the script.

instead of compounding our negative feelings upon each other, we can strategically stack positive feelings one on top of the other.

imagine you’re stacking books, fam.

the first book you have represents your unwanted feelings.

all subsequent books represent feelings of joy, of curiosity, of contentment, of peace, of love, + feelings of the like — shit you want to experience.

essentially what happens is that the unwanted feelings get buried underneath the stack — out of sight out of mind.

however, in the long run, burying the unwanted feelings won’t resolve them so what can we really do?

here’s another take: you can build a library, fam.

the dope part about a library is that there are many books — some you have + haven’t read,

whether you want to read them or not,

all these books co-exist + you can read them at any time your heart desires.

your feelings are for you + you get to determine the ways you want to experience them.

you can stack them,

you can have them on full display without delving into the specifics of them,

you can bury them,

you can experience them all in some capacity —

whatever you decide to do with your feelings, remember:

feelings aren’t facts

+

as quickly as they come, they can go.

notice them + honor them without becoming them.

understand why they exist, thank them for their service, + send them on their way ✨

be you, be dope!
