i started dear dope chick™ back in 2018 because frankly: i was tired of the fake self-love bullshit i’d been seeing.
i kept seeing a lot of fluff + phoniness —
- self-care masquerading as candles around a bubble filled bathtub
- humans pretending to not feel a range of emotions — who is happy all the time?
- feel good quotes + fake ass positivity with no inspiration to act, just ✨vibes✨
there were also messages echoing:
- grind until your knuckles fall off
- sleep is the cousin of death
- fuck ‘dem kids, your loved ones, + your well being. you need this bread instead!
i didn’t feel seen.
i’m not a robot. i don’t want to grind + hustle all the damn time.
i want to be present in my life + in the lives of those who i love the most…
really? bubble baths as the poster child of self-care? miss me with that.
i knew i couldn’t be the only one feeling this way, so i took to the social media streets + created a community of dope chicks who i vibe with; who i can elevate + build with.

i’ve seen this community grow from zero to hundreds of thousands of dope humans + all these years later dear dope chick™ is still cultivating + creating dope ass content for us as a collective — it’s the consistency for me!

from humble beginnings of a daily newsletter, a daily dose of dope is now a website dedicated to delivering dope content daily to dope chicks who are ready to truly create + experience life in all of its dopeness!
