lying to yourself about what you’re going through will not fix anything, fam.
sugarcoating shit only produces sugarcoated shit —
sugarcoated shit serves absolutely no purpose
+
there’s no one who wants to own that or have that around.
today, be truthful about what’s happening with you.
“this is a really difficult time for me”
“i am not comfortable with frontin’ you the money you requested”
“showing up at my house unannounced is not cool”
“i can really use an ear + a hug right now”
nothing will change until our outlook on the situation changes.
parading around in a mask is an act + eventually you must remove it to properly function, fam.
it’s okay to not be okay.
it’s okay to have questions + need clarity.
it’s okay to say no.
it’s okay to disappoint people.
there’s no need to access your courage when everything is fine, right?
who needs strength when they aren’t facing a challenge?
what’s the point of calling on your innate + learned wisdom when everything’s perfect + nothing’s worthy of self reflection?
what’s wild is that strength, courage, + wisdom are exactly what you need right now to get through whatever you’re facing!
so instead of pretending everything is okay, be honest about what’s happening with you.
your truth is healing,
your truth is helpful,
+
your truth is the catalyst for the change you’re longing to experience.
be you, be dope!
