but are they wrong, though?

disagreeing with someone doesn’t negate a truth, fam.

you may not like the words that are coming from their mouth, you may not like what they are doing, yet it doesn’t mean that they are blatantly lying or that they don’t know what they are doing.

someone acting like a butthole to you doesn’t mean they aren’t an awesome parent, a treasure-trove of knowledge, or a phenomenal person.

the way you experience someone or something doesn’t mean that’s all that there is to them/it, nor does it mean everyone experiences them/it the way you do.

to be clear: others will not experience life the same way as you AND that doesn’t mean they are right or wrong in their experiences.

+ to be even clearer: you aren’t necessarily right or wrong for speaking up + out about your experiences, either.

today, realize that two things can be true at once.

all of our experiences are shaped by our biases — our perspectives, our beliefs, + our interpretation of the situation in that moment + that’s fine so long as we don’t conflate a fact with our fiction (opinions).

the messages we receive from people we don’t rock with tends to get lost or fall on deaf ears because we often put them in a box + fail to see them beyond what we’ve pegged them as.

today, be an active listener + remember how multifaceted life can be.

the beauty of life is that its much more grayscale + colorful than the black + white picture we sometimes paint.

we don’t have to like or agree with someone to acknowledge the work they do or the facts they share, + we don’t have to like a situation to acknowledge how we’ve benefitted from it

what it all boils down to is we don’t have to agree with someone to acknowledge the positive impact they have left in our lives of in the lives of others.

life isn’t perfect + neither are people; however, even a broken clock is right two times in a day.

be you, be dope!
