do you really need it, though?

the appearance doesn’t outdo functionality.

how something looks won’t change the importance of how it works.

today, resist the urge to buy “new” for aesthetic purposes only.

it may look good, but do you actually need it?

capitalism convinces you that you need this new item because it looks good.

when you examine its functionality, it’s suddenly revealed that you already have what you need + that’s enough.

save your coins, fam.

a part of living life on your own terms is thinking freely + objectively, + not being easily influenced or swayed by the crowd.

you’ve got coffee at home, you don’t need the latest drink from a cafe.

you’ve got a can opener that works, you don’t need to buy a new one that offers more functionality (because you’ve got that other tools, too).

you’ve got storage containers that contain all the shit you’ve stored over the years that you won’t declutter, but want to make pretty in bins (okay, okay… i won’t go there).

you’ve got time, you don’t need to wish this moment was something other than what it is.

intention is the name of the game.

spend your coins wisely + purposefully, + use what you’ve got… it still works!

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what new gadget have you recently purchased? did you have something similar + working before purchasing it? what made you replace it with this one? if you’re keeping the old one, why are you keeping it?
