guess who’s the captain of the fun police

you are the fun police.

therefore, it is your responsibility to create + manage the fun in your life.

i’ll say it again for the people in the back —

okay, i won’t but you can read it again for extra emphasis because damn —

your lack of laughter + your heavy regulation of fun is costing you big time, fam.

not only is it making your life drab + colorless, it’s making you take shit way too seriously.

we get it that you’re writing work emails,

meeting impossible to meet deadlines,

organizing food security efforts,

+

watching the world’s infrastructure basically crumble due to fallen policies, increases in petroleum + energy costs, + blatant racism.

all that sounds super serious + stressful on your nervous system.

who is to say you cannot do these tasks without a bit of joy + laughter?

after all, you are the fun police, right fam?

today, stop cosplaying as the buttoned up, no time for bs, super serious person who forgot what fun felt like.

instead, embrace the whimsy in life with intentional laughter + joy.

remember, you get to regulate how much fun you experience today.

if twerking your way back to your seat after you refill your cup of tea is how you want to get back to answering those emails, then so be it.

wanna listen to dancehall music while you’re working out + bust out with a random, most nastiest durty wine during your cool down? do what you do.

coming up with a family handshake + doing it every chance you see your family member in the wild or singing to your seedlings while sowing your next wave of succession crops sounds like a good ass time + so much — *dare i say it* — fun.

doing mundane tasks don’t mean you have to experience a mundane day.

in all that you do today, live a little, laugh a little, + show yourself a little — no a lot — of love.

joy is always yours, fam.

claim it.

be you, be dope!
