too much of a good thing, even when it’s considered healthy or “good”, can work to our detriment.
it’s not about too far right or left, but finding equanimity.
when we’re hungry, we pile our plates full of food +/or load our carts with groceries,
only to realize we can’t eat it all or we bought too much shit because our eyes are bigger than our stomachs.
this also happens when we impulsively shopping, couponing, or see a “deal” we cannot refuse
+ we end up buying way more than we need (i’m looking at your toilet paper in 2020 🤨).
life is about balance, fam.
it’s about embracing variety, exploring new things, + using what we have first before wishing + wanting for more.
today, when you find yourself insatiable, sit with that discomfort + ask yourself what it is that you truly need —
do you need more money or do you need to learn how to manage the money that you already have?
do you need more clothes or are you in need of tapping into your own personal style, learn how to remix your fits, +/or creatively repurposing your clothes?
do you need a bigger house or do you need to throw some shit away?
do you need to take all of those vitamins or do you need to eat more nutritionally balanced meals?
do you need another blank journal or do you need to finally sit your ass down + write in the one you have?
do you need more time or do you need to start saying “no” to overcommitting?
quantity is cool, but quality is 🤌🏾
today, focus less on doing the most + more on doing your best.
be you, be dope!
