hissing, smacking your lips, folding your arms across your chest, + rolling your eyes, head, + neck won’t change it for you, fam.
whether you clap your hands, stomp your feet, or complain until your face turns red, your situation is likely to remain the same when you aren’t taking intentional action towards making a difference in your life.
these days, eliciting a response out of me may leave you wishing i had showed my whole entire ass.
that way, people will know exactly what i’ll do next, right?
over the years, i’ve learned that reacting is a form of showing someone my hand before it’s played…
now why would i do that? how does that benefit the situation?
throwing a hissy fit empowers us for the moment.
meanwhile, the ultimate strike will be how we move when the attention is no longer on me.
knowing your next move + others knowing your next move is as different as night + day.
when we are predictable, people can push our buttons, they can get under our skin, + they can actively attempt to break us down simply because they know they can — all while watching us suffer in real time!
so how do we protect ourselves from putting ourselves in a vulnerable position?
we build mental fortitude.
we work on our emotional regulation.
we meditate, pray, + practice breathing techniques.
we learn our triggers + how to talk/move through them.
we adjust our expectations.
we recenter joy in our lives + remember that its available to us at anytime.
living a peaceful life begins in the inside, fam.
you must know within yourself that you are good, that life is good, + that no one can push you off your square but you.
people will say what they say,
do what they do,
+
live how they live + still none of that has to have a visceral affect on you or your life.
easier said than done, ainnit?
so practice today —
practice reclaiming your time + your focus, + redirect your energy to living a full + rich life; a life that your heart most desires to live.
every thing doesn’t deserve a reaction from you, fam.
know when to hold ’em, fold ’em, walk away, + when to run.
be you, be dope!
