the best move is to make a move

run, don’t walk, to places that make you feel welcomed + at peace.

ain’t no sense in waiting around to see if things will turn out different or to continue to endure abuse for the sake of making sure you’ve done all you can do in a situation.

the best move is to make a move.

move with urgency, as if your life depends on you making it out alive.

move with confidence that your decision is based in intention + alignment; not feelings, but facts.

move with awareness + acceptance that where you currently are is no longer a fit for you + you’re ready to explore other options.

you are not stuck, fam.

you are fully capable of making choices that support a healthy, purpose driven life.

you can live a life where you hear the birds sing in the mornings, where you smile soon as you open your eyes, + where gratitude is the first words you hear when you part your lips.

you can live a life where you break cycles while acknowledging suffering happens to us all + that just because we suffer doesn’t mean life can’t + won’t be good to us.

you can live a life where you can find peace in any + every moment, where joy is easily detectable, + where love wraps you up in its loving arms + gives you strength to press on in difficult times.

first, you must completely dismiss mindsets that no longer serve you.

you must remove yourself from people + places that stifle your growth.

you must remember that living life on your own terms is a choice, a decision you must make with intention + clarity, + that this journey for different is worth pursuing —

why not go for what you want?

you’ve already experienced a cycle you no longer want to repeat, what’s the harm in branching out + doing things differently?

your power lies in your ability to cultivate a lifestyle that you’ve always wanted to live.

you can do that for yourself today.

make the move.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what frightens you the most about leaving old cycles behind + pursing new ones?

what can you do today to support a new narrative? what steps can you take that align with the lifestyle you’d rather live?

i.e. no longer entertaining to gossip (not limited to these examples):

scrolling past + not engaging in hot topics
unfollowing people, pages, tabloids, news, etc. that specialize in being in other people’s business
changing the topic when the conversation turns into gossip
choosing to watch tv shows that are not steeped in drama + gossip, etc.
