here’s a mantra to recite during your toughest times:
i’m growing from this.
experiencing tough times can take a toil on us physically, mentally, emotionally, + spiritually.
it is within those tough times that we learn about ourselves, what we are capable of, + what we have the capacity to create.
today, accept that tough times are a part of life + that the intention for them isn’t to cause harm.
the intention behind our most challenging times is to learn + to grow from the experience.
yes, we can experience harm + trauma when encountering tough situations.
in cases when we are faced with hard times, the intention doesn’t always match the overall impact of what we’ve experienced.
see beyond the hurt, the pain, the disappointment, + the tears, fam.
once you get over the initial grief +/or discomfort the situation presents, ask yourself: what have i learned from this? what is this situation teaching me about myself + what i’m capable of doing? who have i discovered myself to be?
exhibiting strength when you’re worn down is tough + it doesn’t always look like fighting back, fam.
tough times allow us to see that there are other options, opportunities, + possibilities for ourselves, including the possible outcome of washing our hands with a situation + walking far, far away. ✌🏾
even when your outlook looks dismal + life is piling worry after worry, heartbreak after heartbreak, + disappointment after disappointment on you, remember:
i’m growing from this.
no one can keep you down + absolutely nothing can stop you.
life is always working for your good + for your growth.
be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:
when faced with tough times, who have you discovered yourself to be? when faced with ease + comfort, who have you discovered yourself to be? do those two people match up as one unit or are they completely different beings? explain.
