pathway to progression

when riding ’round your city or town, there are times when you may stumble upon a detour.

when that happens, what do you do?

turn around + go home having never reached your destination?

follow the detour until you reach your destination?

forget about the detour altogether + find an alternative route instead?

when your desire to reach your destination is the same as it was in the beginning of your journey, following the detour or finding an alternative route doesn’t present itself as a problem.

in those unexpected moments of redirection, there you can find out so much about yourself.

are you open to redirection?

are you willing to follow a new route?

do you trust the the journey?

explore the unpredictable.

there are reasons beyond your control as to why you are experiencing a detour.

kick, scream, fuss, or curse + that detour won’t magically disappear into the abyss.

it’s still gonna be right there.

embrace the journey.

you want to arrive at your destination, yes?

move in the direction of your desires knowing that any + all motion forward is progress.

fast, slow, long, or short —

there is a way + a detour is still a pathway to progression.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

recall a time when you were in the middle of something + a sudden detour interrupted your flow or seemingly jeopardized your chances of reaching your goal, how did it make you feel?

what was your initial reaction? did you decide to move forward? to stay put? where are you on that journey?
