this is a survival mode trauma response

of course you can spend your day doing absolutely nothing.

you can couch potato it out + veg out to your heart’s content.

while sitting still is important, there must be balance.

all day doing absolutely nothing sounds appeasing when you’ve constantly been on go mode, but committing a whole day to doing absolutely nothing is a trauma response more than anything.

today, give yourself permission to breathe again.

for far too long you’ve been in survival mode.

now’s the time to take a deep breath + slow down; to sit still.

with each breath comes a moment in time —

a moment to regain your footing,

to reassess a situation,

+ to refocus on what’s important.

with each moment also comes responsibility.

the responsibility to live a rich, full, + balanced life is yours, fam.

you owe it to your life to give your best efforts.

you also owe it to yourself to take breaks when necessary, to not over exert or over commit yourself, + to honor times of rest as sacred.

the day is full of opportunities, full of moments filled with value + possibilities.

today, make sure you are taking care of you by showcasing your best efforts while also honoring your fundamental needs.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what do you hope to achieve when you decide to do nothing about a situation? what are you hoping to gain when you decide to veg out occasionally? what is it that you truly need in your life to ensure you are feeling balanced (operating without extreme this or that behavior)?
