one’s frick, one’s frack — they are one + the same

there’s always a chance for failure to do it’s thang because failure is always present in our lives.

whether we see it or not, acknowledge it or ignore it, failure resides right beside success —

one’s frick + the other one’s frack,

+ they are sitting beside one another waiting for their turn to be acknowledged.

most times it’s easier to see + acknowledge success since that’s who we mostly want to see anyway.

however, we cannot forget about all the incredible times failure has shown up for us, too.

for those of us who can walk, failure was a constant appearance when we were learning to take steps in infancy + toddlerhood.

it also made an appearance during those first few times we attempted to read (not gonna lie, it still pops up on me with some of these vocabulary words in these books). 🥴

oh, + remember that first time you cooked your own meal?

won’t call it a complete failure — likely could have been better, but you survived eating it, right?

+ who can forget that time you thought you were gonna knock out a task + the task almost took you out (figuratively, of course)!

who knew (insert a task that kicked your ass, yet you ultimately conquered in the end) could be so difficult the first few times you attempted it?

today, stop giving failure the cold shoulder + let it live; let it do it’s thang in your life.

it’s been there for you since the very beginning,

it’s there when you start something new,

+

it’s always ready to help you sharpen your skills.

without failure, where would any of us be, fam?

show gratitude for the hardships, the struggles, + the failures for they have given you not only a new lease on life, it’s given you the ability to learn, to pivot, + to choose different for yourself;

it’s given you another chance to show up

+

experience life as the dope human you are. 🖤

be you, be dope!
