comfort in the midst of a storm

unfortunately, you cannot physically distance yourself from every stressor in your life.

fortunately, you can create distance between yourself + the stressors in your life.

how do i do that, P?

by accepting it.

by being okay with it.

by choosing to see beyond what it’s presenting itself as now + seeing it for what it really is — feedback.

it will be hard to affect you when it’s not at the top of your mind.

see, the more you battle with the stressor, the stronger it becomes.

stress has no power over your life until you give it power + the way you give it power is by giving it your energy + your focus.

accept it for what it is.

can it be changed?

perhaps.

explore that option if you want to experience change.

if it cannot be changed, that’s fine, too.

it’s nothing more than a pothole in your journey.

can you get around it?

of course you can!

take a moment or two or three to pause today, to catch your breath, to appreciate where you are now, + to visualize a way through what’s got you stressed.

make the best of the situation at hand.

yes, it may be aggravating + yes, it may be uncomfortable.

you also know how to get through tough situations + can find comfort in the midst of a storm.

call upon that calm today.

you’ve got this.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

name a stressor you’ve experienced or are currently experiencing in your life.

sit for a moment + brainstorm options you have to break free from the stress of the situation or circumstance.

if you’ve already gotten past it, write down what you did to overcome that pothole in your journey. use this story as inspiration to help you through tough times.
