can you laugh at yourself when you’ve made a mistake?
can you find joy in a heartbreaking situation?
it’s easy to laugh when you’re happy + good things are happening, but what happens when you’re facing hardship? when life is lifin’?
your shoulders find a parking spot beside yours ears,
your jaw tenses up,
+ your self talk loses its grace + finesse.
today, find a way to laugh at yourself.
you may be laughing because shit is funny + that’s typically the case when you’re uptight + upset; however, laughter can jumpstart a mood swing in the positive direction.
laughter lets down our guards, it raises our spirits, + it encourages freedom —
freedom to let go of our ill feelings,
freedom to dream again,
+
freedom to simply be.
busting out a laugh allows us to see a life that restores all opportunities to smile possibilities, even if only for a moment’s time.
+ in that moment’s time where possibility resides, you can decide to stay there by refusing to return to your old stale state of being, of seeing red, + of weighted sadness + anger.
joy transcends all situations + circumstances, fam.
you can find it anywhere you’re looking for it, you can feel it in the air because it always resides where you abide.
turning on your laughter is opening the door to joy, to love, + offers peace to your weary spirit.
we all will mess up from time to time, the question is: are you willing to allow that one mistake to continue blocking you from experiencing you joy you deserve?
be you, be dope!
