i laughed way too hard at that

how many times have you caught yourself so immersed in the moment + having the time of your life —

laughing + all joyous + smiley —

only to find yourself later questioning whether or not you should have enjoyed it.

you may catch yourself saying phrases like:

“i’m over here acting like i don’t have responsibilities when i should be working.”

“how in the world can i even remotely think about having a good time with my friends right now when i have xyz to do later?”

“i laughed way too hard at that joke. i need to focus.”

or better yet, you see someone else having a good time + you start questioning + commenting on why they are so giddy + carefree.

“all they do is laugh all day while i’m over here getting the work done.”

“look at them! thinkin’ everything is a joke!”

“it’s all fun + games right now, but wait until you’re an adult with real responsibilities.”

“all that playing you’re doing — i’ll give you something to play about!”

full stop on the criticism ✋🏾

give yourself + give others space to breathe + be, fam.

free yourself from your own judgements + allow yourself to be fully in the moment.

laugh hard

dance like no one’s watching

smile just because

hum a tune, hold your ear + use your finger for voice control

having a good time doesn’t have to be crime, sis.

do what makes your heart smile + be unapologetic about having a good time!

in case you forgot, you’re alive.

take in the moments + experience life.

be you, be dope!
