imagine doing something with the purest intentions, creating a positive change only for your actions to be criticized + misunderstood.
it’s a tale as old as time, fam!
happens every single day.
some take the time to defend their actions,
others will argue with others ’til they’re blue in the face,
+ still those who don’t want to listen or understand on a deeper level will not yield to anyone’s petitions or pleas to open to understanding.
before responding to criticism, stop to think:
is this a me issue or a them issue?
there are powerful lessons that come in the form of criticism, lessons that teach us a lot about ourselves + others.
learn + grow from them.
call upon your discernment to determine whether or not the criticism deserves a response.
you’re not responsible for how others reaction to what you’ve said or done; however, your responsibility lies in the upkeep of your thoughts + in taking the time to check in with your heart space before acting.
be you, be dope!
