it’s better to be different

does today need to be better than yesterday?

does today have to center striving for better or for more?

does today need to reflect the efforts of you being better, doing better, + seeking better?

what is better anyway, fam?

instead of making better the goal, believe that different is enough.

better than yesterday gives off an unsatisfied vibe as if yesterday was not enough on its own; as if there is absolutely more that you have to do in order to be recognized as successful.

let’s, for a minute, think about how being better is a comparison game that most of us unknowingly play.

we live under the premise that better days are ahead not fully realizing that better is not the goal — living life unapologetically, fully, + freely is what matters most.

to be real, better is subjective + looks different to everyone.

it resides right beside the “shoulda, coulda, woulda” gang + encompasses the spirit of lack.

you are enough, fam.

what you do is enough, too.

if all you can do is what you can do, that is enough.

this isn’t about being unmoved or unmotivated — in fact, it’s the complete opposite of that.

it’s about embracing all things different, honoring the true spirit of change, + reminding ourselves that different doesn’t mean better than or less than, it means different.

today, embrace different.

whether you see it or not:

  • your mindset is different
  • your physically appearance is different
  • your goals are different
  • your heart is different

— you are constantly changing, fam.

you may not experience much difference today, but the difference you experience is enough to change the course of your life.

no matter what label you’ve assigned your actions, when you do something different today believe you are taking the necessary steps to propel yourself into the experience you want to live.

vow, today, to leave better behind + to embrace the value that lies in different.

life on your own terms depends on you seeing the world differently...

focus on that.

be you, be dope!
