no more playing it safe, fam

it’s beautiful that you have long standing traditions in your life.

the structure runs deep with you —

you know exactly what you’ll eat from each restaurant you visit + haven’t gone anywhere new in a while,

your hairstyle has been the exact same for as long as you can remember,

+

your clothing style is extremely predictable.

you have zero wiggle room for your evening routine:

home by a set time,

dinner by a set time,

in bed by… you guessed it: a set time.

sometimes we are so rigid with who we think we are we don’t give ourselves the opportunity to find out who we truly are.

no more playing it safe, fam.

today, choose to do something different than what you’d initially choose.

instead of chicken tenders, try chicken katsu.

instead of a right side part, part your hair down the center or on the left side.

instead of all black today, wear all black with a splash of color.

life is about growth + growth is about discovery.

experience life through a new lens while still honoring who you are at your core.

rigidity is flexibility: to have one, one must also have the other.

open your heart + mind to new possibilities, new opportunities, + new experiences.

the moment is fleeting + the time to explore life is now.

give yourself permission to explore another side of you while watching new traditions unfold before your eyes.

be you, be dope!

journal prompt(s) for today:

what did you do today that is slightly different from your normal routine? what did you like about that activity? in what ways is it the same +/or different than what you’ve previously experienced? will you do it again? why or why not?
