have you ever done some shit you knew you had no business or real desire doing, but did it anyway due to fear of missing out?
i’d be lying if i sat here + pretended as if i never compromised my integrity for an opportunity that i felt i couldn’t pass up.
afterwards, i’d feel like shit.
i knew better, i knew it wasn’t right for me, yet in that moment all i could feel was desperation.
in those moments, what i got out of what i considered would be “great opportunities” was an overwhelming feeling that i chose wrong.
i lacked the courage to stand up for myself because i didn’t believe that what’s for me will not pass me by.
on the flip, i can remember times when i said, “nah, i’m good” + walked away with more than my integrity —
i had my peace of mind,
i could breathe easy,
+ what i thought was a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity proved itself to be way less than what had been given by walking away.
what i got was way more in value to methan what i left on the table!
if you’ve felt or are feeling compromised, you aren’t alone.
we’ve all been there, fam.
we’ve all done some shit that made us question our integrity:
situationships for the sake of not being lonely knowing damn well they aren’t the best for you
working for the sake of a buck even though we know the work doesn’t align with who we are or what our lives represent
gossiping about, excluding, or canceling someone because it’s trending, popular, or doing it for your own personal come up
the next time you feel that uneasy feeling of “this ain’t right” creep up, gon’ ahead + dismiss it with, “oh nah, we deading that”!
we are moving with intention.
we are believing that there’s enough for everybody; that abundance is all around us.
we are letting go of the idea of competition; we are letting go of forcing others to see our worth or how well we work with others + we are welcoming discernment.
affirm with me:
life is working for my good!
always. all ways.
be you, be dope!
