that Drake “started from the bottom” hits different when you realize that that’s the only way to start.
everyone you see at the top of their game has one thing in common: they started.
the “bottom” is relative.
defining the bottom, or our starting point, is impossible because life is an individualized experience.
our lived experiences are different; therefore, it’s comes as no surprise that our starting points may differ, too.
this is why comparison is the thief of joy.
how can we truly appreciate where we’ve been in relation to where they are now if we are constantly comparing our starting point to someone else’s?
okay, they came from some money. so what?
everyone loves a good rags to riches story, but that doesn’t mean you have present yourself in that way, either.
quite frankly: none of that shit matters.
however you start is how you start because bayyyybeeee — starting is one part of the journey.
continuing sustains the progress + appreciation keeps us humble, compassionate, + kind.
we’ve all had struggles, fam.
we’ve all had to overcome something in order to be where we are today.
we started from the bottom now we here — together.
+ it’s with gratitude that i say thank you for existing + thank you for persisting.
onward + upward!
be you, be dope!
