quit marching to the beat of your own drum

marching to the beat of your own drum is always an option.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with you deciding to do your own thing + to live life on your own terms.

but! there is another option available for you that you can explore.

this option doesn’t require you to to compromise who you are, it doesn’t require a lot of brain power (overthinking), + it will ensure you live a rich + full life.

today, explore the option of living life on life’s terms.

i know, i know —

what if i don’t like what like what life is handing me, P?

what if life is lifing too much + i need to find some recourse?

what if life isn’t working how i expect for it to work for me/meeting ny expectations?

that’s the thing — life is uncontrollable.

one minute you’re up, the next you’re down.

+ since we are gluttons for punishment, we have a hard time deciphering when enough is enough; when to switch rhythms.

the spike in hustle + grind culture, the microwave culture, + the lack of rest + relaxation present in our lives all are representations of the lifestyles + rhythms that what we, as humans, have created to live out for ourselves.

however, life has a natural flow that we don’t have to think too much about controlling, we only need to follow.

when you get in good with feeling out the rhythms of life, of trusting where life is taking you, then you’re surfing somewhere in between high + low for a long while before spiking in either direction again.

(thank you, equanimity 🫶🏾)

the natural highs + lows of life are what make life exciting!

knowing that the cycle doesn’t stop, knowing that when you’ve seen your lowest you have yet to reach your highest gives us hope for tomorrow; hope for the future.

instead of regretting what life has given you or hating what is happening, tap into life, roll with it, + enjoy the view.

it’s fair to say you haven’t ever seen life from every perspective, especially this one.

it’s also fair to say that after experiencing certain circumstances or situations, you are now more equipped to navigate the highs + lows of life.

you don’t have to stay in a situation you don’t like simply because life takes you there.

when life is showing you possibilities, it’s also giving you opportunities + chances to choose now, in this moment, what you’ll do now.

it is up to you to decide whether you’ll enjoy the view from where you are now.

it’s up to you to trust that what life is showing you right now is working for your highest good.

it’s up to you to decide where you’ll go from here.

be you, be dope!
